祈りの花火「白菊」打上のため、寄付しました / Shiragiku Fireworks in Kamaishi

Ten years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake.

On March 11, 2021, at 19:00, a fireworks memorial service to ‘launch prayers into the sky’ titled “Shiragiku” (white chrysanthemum) was held in the night sky of Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture – one of the most severely affected areas of Japan.

Seiji Kise, a fireworks master in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, created Shiragiku as a memorial to his war buddies who were interned in Siberia and lost their lives there. The fireworks were first set off in Russia, and have since been set off in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, on August 1 of the Nagaoka air raid and on the anniversary of the end of the war.

They are launched with the hope that the souls of the victims will find some peace.
On the day of the event, it will be streamed live on the official Iwate Nippon Youtube.

2021年3月11日、東日本大震災から10年目を迎えるこの日、

岩手県釜石市にある根浜海岸で、慰霊の花火「白菊」が打ち上げられました。

「白菊」は、シベリアで抑留され現地で命を落とした戦友を弔うために、新潟県長岡市の花火師喜瀬誠次氏によって作られました。ロシアの地で打ち上げられたことから始まり、その後は長岡空襲の8月1日や終戦記念日に、新潟県長岡市内で打ち上げられてきました。

『この震災を風化させたくない』

震災の犠牲になった人々が少しでも安らかでありますようにと、白菊に想いを込めるのです。10年経とうとも、癒えない想いを持ち続けている人が少なくありません。

白菊をはじめて見た高齢の女性は「花火のなかに観音様が見える」と話したそうです。この女性が10年間抱えてきた傷みは言葉にすることができません。

白菊がその心を癒してくれるなら、続けていくことの意味はあると思います。白菊の打ち上げは、十三回忌まで続けられます。1日に打ち上げる白菊は3発ですが、湾内から打ち上げるため、台船を借りてこなければなりません。この利用料も加わり、1回の費用が百数十万にも及びます。
