The Playground of Hope (POH) started when the Great East Japan Earthquake struck in March 2011.　They began to take on the challenge of “building a new community” and “creating a playground for children” for those who were unexpectedly forced to live in temporary housing. The team are making efforts to rebuild and restore “playgrounds” in the affected areas and to restore “playgrounds” in orphanages. To date, they have completed 141 projects in 108 locations, making a positive impact on over 25,000 children. “Play” plays a very important role in every aspect of a child’s development, and POH is working to improve the current state of play in Japan by revitalizing playgrounds and organizing events.
プレイグラウンド・オブ・ホープ（POH）は、2011年3月に発生した東日本大震災時にスタートしました。　図らずも仮設住宅で暮らすこととなった方々のため、“新たなコミュニティ作り“と“子供たちの遊び場作り“への挑戦を始めたのです。被災地における”遊び場“の再建・再生、そして児童養護施設における”遊び場“再生に尽力しています。これまでに、108ヵ所において、141のプロジェクトを完了し、25,000人以上の子供たちに素晴らしい影響を与えています。”遊び“は子供の発達のあらゆる面でとても重要な役割を果たします。POHは、遊び場の活性化やイベントの開催を通じて、日本の遊びの現状を改善するよう活動しています。
